NVQ Level 4 – Nurse Assistant.
Nurse Assistant – NVQ Level 4 is a National Vocational Qualification recognized and certified by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) of Sri Lanka. It represents advanced professional competency in nursing support, preparing learners to perform independently with responsibility for quality and safety in basic clinical care under supervision. This is a career-focused training program designed to prepare compassionate and competent nursing assistants for modern healthcare environments. The course combines essential clinical knowledge with hands-on practicum and hospital-based training, covering patient care, wound care, first aid, vital signs, elderly and maternal care, and workplace safety—equipping students for confident employment in hospitals and care facilities.
- Duration: 12 months (900 hours of combined theory and practical skills training),
- Deliver Mode: Blended training with theory – online/ classroom, and hands-on practical – skills laboratory. Practical training is arranged at reputed government and private hospitals to demonstrate competence in caregiving tasks,
- Assessment: Continuous assessments of skills, written test, practical demonstrations, and the final evaluation that includes oral/practical components,

- Upon successful completion of the course and assessments, you receive a TVEC NVQ Level 4 Certificate in Nurse Assistant.
- This certificate is nationally recognized and can support employment in nurse assistant roles in Sri Lanka and accepted for overseas work applications where NVQ qualifications are recognized.

Requirements
- A National Certificate at NVQ Level 3 in an occupation related to nursing sector
- GCE (Ordinary Level) – 6 passes with 3 credits including English
- Age – above 17 years of age,
