NVQ Level 4 Caregiver (Elderly)
NVQ Level 4 for Caregiver is a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) designed to certify individuals with advanced competencies in caregiving beyond the basic level (NVQ Level 3). It builds on foundational caregiving skills and prepares learners for higher-responsibility roles, including specialized care and some supervisory duties. The qualification is accredited by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) and aligns with National Competency Standards for the caregiver occupation.
Course Highlights
- Duration: 6 months (496 hours of combined theory and practical skills training),
- Deliver Mode: Blended training with theory – online/ classroom, and hands-on practical – skills laboratory. Practical training is arranged at reputed Care homes to demonstrate competence in caregiving tasks,
- Assessment: Continuous assessments of skills, Written test, practical demonstrations, and the final evaluation that includes oral/practical components,
- On-the-job training: 3 months
