NVQ Level 6 – Nursing

The NVQ Level 6 – Nursing qualification in Sri Lanka is a Higher National Diploma in Nursing that prepares learners for professional nursing practice. The course has been accredited by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) of Sri Lanka. NVQ Level 6 represents a tertiary-level professional competency in nursing, combining theory, clinical skills and real-world practical experience.

• Duration: 3 years (If the student has already obtained NVQ Level 4 qualification in Nurse Assistant or any other nursing related profession, the duration will be 2 years), Delivery Mode: Combines classroom theory, laboratory practice, and clinical training in a reputed government/ private hospital,
• Language: English (to align with international standards),
• Assessment: Semester-wise written and practical assessments

Award & Recognition

• Once all assessments are completed and competencies demonstrated at practical and clinical sessions, students are eligible to receive the TVEC-endorsed NVQ Level 6 Higher National Diploma in Nursing, which certifies them as qualified nurses ready for clinical practice.
• Additionally, you will receive an Academic Transcript and a Certificate of completion.
